Life Coaching

  • Are you where you want to be in your life?
  • Are you overwhelmed with how to get from where you are to where you want to be?
  • Are you using your inner wisdom and creativity fully in your life?

Therapy and coaching are not exactly the same.  First, therapy is a highly regulated profession, with education, training and tests to gain licensure.  Coaching on the other hand is a largely unregulated profession.  Anyone can market themselves as a coach.  The practice of therapy is  different from coaching, although overlap exists in that therapists often use some coaching in their therapy work with their clients. Therapy tends to move “backwards” into our emotional pain and wounds, and usually ties our current experience to past events and traumas. Coaching tends to work on problem solving and does not focus on past wounds, or the emotional self.  In coaching one explores moving into the future, defining and setting goals and making our lives expand and develop into what we would like them to be in a more mental way.
After I was well established as a licensed therapist, I added life coaching to my menu of services for several reasons, including:

  • Some people find therapy to have a stigma, but are open to coaching.
  • I enjoy working with goal setting and brainstorming.
  • I enjoy helping people envision and architect their lives.

Life coaching is best suited to people who are “high functioning” and successful, but want some collaboration with a trained professional to help them clarify and enact their goals.

My mission is to help people know that:

  • we have the power to create and transform our lives.
  • we can become aware of how we have historically created and currently create our experience.
  • by altering our thinking, feelings, and behaviors, and fully honoring ourselves, we become empowered, joyous and fulfilled.
